The Ninaad School Of Music (NSM) was established in the city of Pretoria, South Africa in the year 2015 by  Saradindu Adhikary. Its aim is the promotion of all forms of Indian music and culture as a whole. In addition to teaching over 120 students, the Ninaad School of Music also conducts music examinations as part of its learning process – Ninaad is an affiliated branch of the Indian music university.

NSM has also achieved an international status and presence by facilitating classes to students in India, Brazil, Dubai and USA. NSM continues to grow as its student base increases and the positive message of music which it creates, spreads throughout the world.

Indian classical music has the potential to contribute positively to individual and world peace and harmony.

NINAAD school of music is currently offering lessons in:

Vocals – Classical, Light classical, Bhajans, Gazals, Surfi, Quwalli, Popular Bollywood music and more.

Percussion – Tabla, Dhol, Pakhawaj, at a classical level as well as at an accompaniment level.

Saradindu Adhikary

Saradindu Adhikary is an extremely talented north Indian percussionist, singer, music director and a well-known and successful teacher who hails from Kolkata, India. He was born into a musical family and started his vocal and tabla training under his father, Shri Gobardhan Adhikary, at the tender age of four. Thereafter, he was fortunate enough to have received intensive training under world-renowned tabla player, Pandit Tanmoy Bose, for over fifteen years.

During this time he was also able to complete his Visharad (Bachelors Degree in Music) in vocals and Tabla in 1995 and he achieved his Masters Degree in Tabla in the year 1999. In 2002, Saradindu became a music teacher at one of the largest schools of Indian music, Shritinandan, established by the great classical vocalist, Padmabhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. Saradindu was also privileged and honoured enough to learn under him for over ten years.

Since 2004, he has been travelling all over India and other countries for both teaching and live performance purposes. He has worked on numerous projects over the years as he has sought to expand his musical knowledge and experience.

Monisha Shaw

Monisha Shaw is a extremely gifted Indian classical vocalist. She was born in Calcutta into a family of artists and musicians. She first took lessons in music from Lekha Mukherjee. After getting her Diploma in Music (Vocal) she then became – and still is - a disciple of the legendary classical vocal maestro Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. It was here that she was able to explore the deeper side of classical music.

Monisha has worked as an art and vocal teacher in Surangana School in India. She has also worked as a vocal teacher under the pioneer institution for Indian classical music SHRUTINANDAN (Kolkata) established and conducted by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty.

Monisha continues to research Indian classical raga music and its application in different form of music. She also enjoys working in cross cultural fusion music. Some of her performance highlights include the Sageet Mela organized by the Government of India and performing at the World Music Concert in Johannesburg, South Africa. Other than classical music Monisha is equally good singing light classical, Bhajan, Thumri, Sufi, Qawwali, and popular music.
